Breckland School

Headteacher’s Welcome

Our Vision

We are a school committed to excellence, characterised by improvement at pace and a culture reflecting our community context, where students will be passionate about their learning and inspired to be the best they can be.

Our work is fostered through high expectations, first-class and evidence-informed teaching, and a focus on honesty, kindness and respect.

We have a shared ambition that every student will succeed and thrive in the modern world.

Our Values

Our Ethos

To achieve our vision, we maintain a culture which promotes constructive relationships and positive behaviour, underpinned by honesty, kindness and respect.

Our students feel included, safe and secure, and their achievements and contributions are valued and celebrated.

Visible leadership modelling high expectations for staff and students, exceptional standards of student conduct and appearance, and belief in the potential of every member of the school community, are distinct features of Breckland School.

Staff are supportive of the school’s vision and well-motivated to provide an excellent and inclusive education for all students.

There is a calm and purposeful atmosphere where teachers can teach, and students can learn.  The school is a welcoming environment; students are courteous, interacting positively with their peers, staff and visitors.

Staff know students by name and have an appreciation of their individual strengths, ensuring they feel valued at the school.  All students are treated equally, and their specific needs are met throughout the school day.

We inspire students to challenge themselves beyond their perceived potential, while also encouraging them to be honest, kind and respectful individuals, with high self-esteem and the desire to fulfil their aspirations.
